Hi I'm Karen!

I'm an allergy mother of two beautiful boys Felix 6 and Spencer 4.  Both of my boys have multiple food allergies to different foods and both have suffered an anaphylactic reaction.

I was introduced to allergies and anaphylaxsis when Felix was four months old - and it has been one huge rollercoaster ride ever since.  I have experienced moments of fear, anxiety, sadness, grief, relief and joy over this time.  But what the journey has taught me most of all is to be grateful for my family, to cherish every moment and to embrace food allergies.  If I don't embrace allergies, the alternative is to resent it and that's not healthy for myself or for my children.

Feeding my family has now become a priority in my life.  I aim to ensure every snack and meal is free of all food allergens and is as wholesome, as nutrient dense and as yummy as can be.

After many food experiments in my kitchen, I created Allergy Plate to share my allergy friendly snack and meal ideas with other people riding this allergy rollercoaster.
